While assigned to a barracks, the personnel of 9. Kompanie frequently have their uniforms, equipment, living area, and weapons inspected by the command staff. The uniform and locker inspection requires a high degree of attention to detail while the combat equipment inspection calls for meticulous equipment maintenance and a weapon free of all rust and residue. All inspections help instill a high level of discipline and military bearing. Infractions are entered into the Kompanie records and extra duties assigned to offenders.

During the combat equipment inspection, Unteroffizier Stahl inspects the rifle for residue and scoring while the inspectee holds the bolt in his right hand. The Hauptfeldwebel checks to see if the soldier's gas mask is present.
